Children in 4th-6th grades belong in our Junior Congregation. There they learn how to participate in Shabbat and Yom Tov services by experiencing a bona fide prayer experience. Junior Congregation leaders help the kids acclimate to the content and pace of the davening they can expect as they move toward our Teen Minyan and then, as adults, in the main sanctuary. Kids take on roles leading the prayers and reading from the Torah. Boys and girls nearing the end of their elementary school years delight in being taken seriously as congregants and in their special upstairs. They even get their kiddush after davening! And if you get there early enough before prayers start, ice cream or donuts await.

BDJuniors, our Middle School group for 6th-8th graders, enjoy activities throughout the year including BBQs, Field Trips, Shabbat Dinners, Games, and the famous Monday Mishmar Madness, where they might meet a real-life Torah scribe, or learn the ins and outs of making chicken soup.
