Each month, BDJ hosts a lunch for our friends and neighbors in the community who need a little extra help. Our neighborhood has a sizable number of homeless and needy individuals who eagerly look forward to this monthly get-together. They share food and fellowship with BDJ members who volunteer their time. Many BDJ'ers who've attended the Tikkun Olam Lunch say it's one of most meaningful things they've ever done. You can attend a Tikkun Olam lunch simply by purchasing 2 lunches from a local kosher establishment and bringing them to BDJ... enjoy one, share the other. It is also possible to sponsor the entire event, as many local restaurants have done.

Sponsorship: $400

At BDJ we are constantly “building our home.” We recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation, making our Sanctuary and the rest of our building more beautiful, open and welcoming to all regardless of age, gender or physical abilities. We also envision several future projects intended to keep our 75-year-old facility in superior condition, and to serve our ever-growing membership. Donations are welcome. Dedications are available.

From earliest times, the writing and dedication of a Sefer Torah has been the ultimate expression of a Jew's contribution to his community. Our most recent dedication came from the family of Reb Lazer Rosman, a Holocaust survivor and BDJ pioneer who occupied a place of honor in our shul and in our hearts for many decades. In memory of Reb Lazer we maintain a perpetual fund for the annual maintenance and purchase of ritual objects for the shul. Minimum donation is $54.00
